U Need:

1.Carrot-3

2.Chow chow-1

3.Gram dhall-3tsp

4.Green chillies-3

5.Mustard-1/2tsp

6.Turmeric powder-a pinch

7.Curry leaves

8.Small onion-4

9.Salt

10. veg. oil-2tsp

Method of preparation:

1.Cut carrot and chow chow into equal small pieces

2.Adding adequate water cook them well in microwave or pan.

3.Fry the gram dall, girnd it into powder and keep aside.

4.Heat the pan, put vegetable oil and tamper with mustard, green chillies & curry leaves.

5.Add chopped small onion and fry till it becomes brown.

6.Now add the gram dhall powder and fry for a min.

7.Then add the cooked vegetable with little water in it and mix for a while.

8.Mix well till it becomes a kuttu.

Chickpea Sunndal-கொண்டைக்கடலை சுண்டல்


U Need:

1.Chick pea-1cup

2.Red Chillies-6

3.Curry leaves

4.Coriander leaves

5.Coconut grated-1/4 cup

6.Small onion-4

7.Garlic -2

8.Mustard

9.Salt
Method of Preparation:

1.Soak chick pea overnight.

2.Pressure cook chick pea adding salt.

3.Chop onions,coriander leaves. & grind Coconut with red chillies and garlic.

4.Heat the pan with 3tsp veg.oil add mustard, curry leaves and chopped onion.

5.Fry for some time and add chick pea ,grinded coconut.

6.Mix well for 2min and finally add coriander leaves and hing.

7.Serve it hot.

Carrot Halwa- காரட் ஹல்வா


U need:

1. Carrot grated-1cup

2.Milk-3 cups

3.Sugar-3cups

4.Cardamom powder- a pinch

5.Ghee- 1cup

6.Cashews & Raisins-10

Method of Preparation:

1.Fry the grated carrot in 3tsp ghee.

2.Add 3cup milk to it and cook in microwave or cooker.

3.Allow it to cooland mash in mixer.

4.Heat a heavy bottomed pan, put 3tsp ghee then add grinded paste.

5.Continue stirring till the water is absorbed , when there is no water start adding sugar.

6.Add cardamom and some ghee.

7.To reduce the amount of ghee in sweet always add ghee at the end when it comes to halwa consistency.

8.Fry cashew & raisins in another pan and mix it with halwa.


Garlic Kuzhambu- பூண்டு குழம்பு

U Need:

1.Garlic-15No

2.Gingelly oil-4tsp

3.Chilli powder-1 tsp

4.Coriander powder-1tsp

5.Turmeric powder-1/4tsp

6.Curry leaves

7.Asafotedia- a pinch

8.Small onions-6No

9.tamarind -small lemon size

10.tomatoe-1 small size

11.Salt


Method of preparation:

1.Soak tamarind in water & keep aside for 15min.

2.Peel off onion & garlic and finely chop them.

3.Heat the pan and put 2tsp ginelly oil ,then add fenugreek seeds & curry leaves.

4.Following that add chopped onion & garlic fry till it becomes brown in color.

5.Now add choped tomotoes , turmeric powder,chilli powder, coriander powder and mix for a while.

6.After 2min add tamarind extract and salt.

7.Allow it to cook for 5min till becomes thick like a gravy.

8.At the end ,add remainig gingelly oil and asafotedia.

Urundai Kuzhambhu- உருண்டை குழம்பு











U Need:
For making Urundhai:

1.Thur Dhal- 1cup
2.Small onion-7 nos finely choped.
3.curry leaves finely choped.
4.Sombhu-1/4spoon
5.Red chillies-5 nos.

6.coconut pieces-4 tsp finely chopped

For Kulambu:
1. Gingelly oil-4tsp
2.Feenu greek seeds-1/4tsp
3.Sombu-1/2 tsp
4.coconut grated-1/2 cup
5.tamarind -lemon size
6.curry leaves.
7.tomatoe-1no
8.small onion-3 nos
9.chillie powder-1 tsp
10.coriander powder-1tsp
11.turmeric powder-1/4tsp
12.Salt
Method of Preparation:

1.Soak thur dhal in water for 15min then grind it without adding water along with sombhu and red chillies.

2.To the grinded paste add choped curry leaves,onion,salt & coconut make it into small balls.

3.In a pan, heat gingelly oil and add one by one fenugreek seeds , Sombhu, curry leaves,
choped onion & tomotoes. fry them till brown.

4.Now add the tamarind extract when it bubbles add tumeric pwd, chillie pwd, and coriander pwd.

5.Add enough water it cook it for 5min. mean while steam cook the urundhai in microwave.

6.Grind grated coconut with sombhu and add it to kulambhu.

7.Finally add the urundhai and keep it simmer for 2 min.

Server it with rice and some kuttu .

Red Chilli Chutney




U need:

1. Tomatoe-1 medium size

2.Garlic-4 cloves, Ginger-1inch piece

3.Red chili powder 1tsp-6 Nos

4.Gingelly oil-4tsp

5.Mustard-1/2sp

6.Curry leaves-1 steam

7.Salt

Method of preparation:

1.Grind raw tomatoes, ginger and garlic in mixer.

2.Heat the pan, put oil and tamper with mustard & curry leaves.

3.After mustard splits out, add the grounded paste & red chilly powder .

.Add Salt & serve.Perfect side dish for Idli,dosa

Chow Chow Kuttu- சொள சொள கூட்டு





U Need:

1.Chow chow-1 medium size


2.Moong dhal-1 cup


3.Green chillies-4

4.Small Onion-4





5.Mustard-1/2tsp

6.Curry leaves

7.Turmeric powder- a pinch

8. Salt to taste
.







Method of preparation:







1.Steam cook the moong dhal and keep aside.

2.wash & cut the chow chow vegetable into small pieces.

3.In kadai, put 1tsp oil and tamper mustard and curry leaves.

4.Add sliced onion,green chilies and fry for sometime

5.Then add turmeric powder ,salt & chow chow.

6.Pour 1 cup water into it, when the vegetable is cooked enough add moong dhal and mix.
