Carrot Vada- காரட் வடை

U Need:

1.Grated carrot-1cup

2.Thur dhal -1cup


3.Garam masala powder-1tsp

4.Cilantra leaves

5.Curry leaves


6.Green chillies-5

7.Big onion -1

8.Chilli powder-1tsp

9. Salt

10.Hing-a pinch



Method of Preparation :

1.Soak the thur dhal in water for 30min and half grind it without adding water.

2.Don't grind it to a smooth paste,then vada will not be crispy.

3. Add grated carrot , chopped onion,curry leaves,cilantra,green chillies,
salt,hing,chilli &garam masala powder to grinded dhal.

4.Mix thoroughly and make out small vadas.

5.Fry the vadas in oil.

Easy tea time snack that can be made within 15min.

Kuli Paniyaram குழிப்பணியாரம்





U Need :


For batter:

1.Raw rice -1 cup

2.Idly rice -1 cup

3.Urad dhal -1 cup

4.Fenugreek -1 tsp

5.Salt -1tsp

6.Cooking Soda - a pinch
For Tampering:

1.mustard-1tsp

2.green chillies-8

3.curry leaves

4.coriander leaves

5.coconut

Method of Preparation:

1.Put raw rice,idly rice ,dhal and fenugreek in a vessel pour water
and keep it aside for 4hrs.

2.wash it and grind to a batter.

3.Add salt and ferment overnight.

4.Add little cooking soda to the batter.

5.In a kadai fry mustard,and finely chopped curry leaves coriander

leaves,coconut pieces and green chillies.

6.Put all the fried items into the batter and mix thoroughly.

7.Heat the kuli paniyarm kadai and spread out 1 spoon oil over it.

8.Fill the each round of the paniyaram kadai with batter.

9.Spread one spoon of oil over it.


10.Turn the paniyarams upside down.

11.Take it out of kadai when it comes to light brown in color.

12.Serve it with coconut chutney and sambar.

Kuli paniyaram is basically a chettinadu dish.it was originated from madurai,
the temple city of tamilnadu .

Aval Puttu-அவல் புட்டு


U Need:

1.Aval-1cup

2.Jaggery-1/2cup

3.Cardamom powder- a pinch


4.Grated coconut-1/4cup


Method of Preparation:

1.Grind the aval in mixer to rava consistency.

2.Heat 1 cup water untill it boils well

3.Pour the hot water into grinded aval.

4.Add jaggery,cardamom and mix it finely with ur hands.

5.Finally add grated coconut.

6.This is now ready to eat.

This is a simple tastier snack usually made in Navarathiri Gollu events..
